In 1987, I needed to upgrade the service in my house from 100 amp to 200 amp. I called a friend who worked for a local electrical supply company in Franklin and asked him to refer me to an electrician who was good and trustworthy. He gave me Jim Loughlin’s name and Loughlin cheerily came over, quoted, and then did the job professionally and quickly. That was 27 years ago.

Ever since I’ve called Loughlin to do ANYTHING electrical from replacing a fluorescent ballast to installing four huge metal halide flood lamps on full size telephone poles around my riding ring.

They don’t hem and haw about a job too small or a job too big. When they came to my home to work last summer, my wife was all ready to ask them to please remove their boots when they came in but tucked into their toolbelt were a brand new pair of blue “hospital booties” which they unwrapped and then slipped over their work boots BEFORE they entered the house. Any time they went outside to get parts off the van for the job, booties off and then booties back on in the house. After they were finished, they came back in with a vacuum and cleaned up some plaster crumbs that had fallen from the fixture where they worked to repair the problem. Try to find anybody that operates with this level of respect…good luck! They are all just really good guys from the owner down.

My business is in the final stage of moving to a new location in a professional office building and the new landlord had “the low bidder” contractor do the build-out and electrical work. On the final walk-through to accept the new location last Friday, I checked a few things and it was a wiring disaster. I was frankly furious and told them that I would not accept the space unless they let me use a professional electrician and not the bozo they hired. I called Loughlin and asked if they could come straighten it out and make it right. Literally the next business day two vans pull up and two electricians came in and went quietly to work for the next two days fixing a virtual nightmare of amateurish wiring and cabling. This is a where you would expect a response of “gee we’re wicked busy right now and maybe we can look it at next week” answer but the office receptionist said “thanks for calling us, we’ll be right over”. If I want to stand in line, I’ll go to the Registry. I needed quick help and got it right where I always have; Loughlin Electric. We got professional COMMERCIAL data, telephone, and electrical work done by a true professional.

So I’ve used them for residential work, for commercial work, and they wired up my horse barn and riding arena which I guess qualifies as farm work.

After 27 years of experience I think I can very proudly and comfortably give Loughlin Electric my strongest endorsement.
